New Silent Hill Game to be made by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro

The ground-breaking survival horror video game series will return, it has been announced, as Konami step back into the shadows of Silent Hill once again. Teased by Sony at a press conference as “P.T” and now revealed as the new Silent Hill game, the news so far should have horror fans, and Silent Hill fans, very excited about the potential of the upcoming release.

Not only will Hideo Kojima, creator of Metal Gear be developing the game, but alongside him will be beloved horror and fantasy director Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Pacific Rim). It has also been revealed that the popular star of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Norman “Daryl Dixon” Reedus, is on board as a performer in the game.

On his upcoming development collab with del Toro, Kojima said the following;

‘The one thing that I can say about Silent Hills, and this is something I’ve been discussing with Guillermo del Toro as well, is that originally we were thinking of making a game that would make you pee your pants, but at this point we’ve changed our minds, and now we’re aiming for a game that will make you s*** your pants.’

‘One thing that you have to keep in mind is that, if a game is too scary, people just won’t play it. If it gets too scary you just keep your eyes shut and soon it will be over. But if it’s a game, people will just stop. So that’s why there’s a limit on how scary you can make a game.’

‘But in this case we’re totally ignoring that and, you know what? If you don’t want to keep on playing through the game, so be it. We don’t care. That’s the game we are aiming for.’

The news coming from this announcement is exciting, especially for those of us who were hoping for a new Silent Hill game, and it sounds as if the potential for it to be the best yet is high, with no third party developers and studios apparently being a part of the game.
